Come, let’s worship Him and bow down.
Let’s kneel before the Lord who made us, because He is our God
and we are the people He takes care of and the sheep that He tends.
… Psalm 95:6-7 |

BIENVENIDO! ... WELCOME!
Won't you join
those
from Somerset Hills Baptist Church
as they walk and pray in Maracay? Look at the places and
the people we visit through God's eyes of love.
How can you
... where you are ... share the love of Jesus with the people in Maracay?
There is a way. Will you
commit to walk with us daily and pray over these prayer
stops?
PRAY ... PRAY ...
PRAY as you walk!
Thank you
for coming. Please come each day and faithfully take these
requests to the Father.

The same Lord is the Lord of all and
gives many blessings to all who trust in Him,
as the Scripture says. “Anyone who calls on the Lord will be saved.”

10:12-13

Day 4, Wednesday, May
21
We
headed to La Soledad in the morning where we prayer walked over the
apartment buildings and San Isidro in the afternoon (those are the last
2 neighborhoods). Many of the apartment buildings are in the process
of being built--the population of the these neighborhoods may be doubled
in a year or 2. The Bennett's work seems daunting and they need our
prayer. On our way, we visited a school for children with cerebral
palsy. In the evening, fifteen of us gathered around the Bennett's home
for a lively Bible study on "GOZO" (please consult your Spanish
dictionary).
This
will be our last entry from Maracay. We had a wonderful and productive
week! We are heading to Caracas and please pray for our safe trip home.

Wednesday, May 21, AM
San Isidro

This is San Isidro, the smallest professional area in Maracay.
Still, there are over 600 families living in these buildings,
all of them part of our target group.
As we walk through this neighborhood, pray that God would
penetrate the walls around these buildings and the walls around
the hearts of these self-sufficient and proud people.
|
|
Alcalde
As
we prayer walk by the office of the mayor of Maracay, pray for the
people working in this building. They are very influential in this
city.
Pray for the mayor of this city, Humberto Prieto,
his aides and work associates.
Pray
for their salvation, for their honesty and integrity as leaders
of this great city |
|
Center

One
of our team members, Winelia Marin, works at this Center for
Handicapped Children in San Isidro.
Let’s pray for the children,
their parents and the teachers and therapists who work here.
Pray
for Winelia to be an example of the love and caring of the Lord in
front of these people so they will be drawn to the truth.

Church

As we walk through San
Isidro, we will pass this small Catholic church. The
vast majority of the professionals identify themselves as being
Catholic, whether they ever attend church or not.
Pray that their spiritual eyes would be open to the truth of the
gospel and this truth would set them free from the erroneous
practices of this religion. |
|
Wednesday,
May 21, PM
McDonald's

Major intersection of Las Delicias. Within a one square mile area
there are over 19, 250 professionals who live in high rise condos.
Pray that God would give us insight in how to reach all these
people and that He would work in their hearts so they would be open
to spiritual things.
|
Margaritas
Las
Margaritas is the apartment complex where the Bennett's live.
Pray that they will have success in developing
friendships with their neighbors and that they could begin a bible
study group in their apartment with their neighbors |
Language
Language College- Mike and I had the opportunity to share
with the students and teachers of this English language institute
how Thanksgiving is celebrated in the US. We emphasized the
importance of giving thanks to God every day of the year.
Pray that we would be able to return to share more about God
and His Word. |
|
Colegio
San
Jose School – This private Catholic school is only two blocks
from our apartment. We have conducted several of our seminars
here. The director has been very helpful in renting us space
for a very reasonable price. We are planning to have more
conferences here in the future.
Pray that each professional that enters
this building to attend one of our conferences will want to
become a part of a small group and invite Christ into his life.
|
|
La Soledad

Here
is La Soledad, the neighborhood where Mike and Jan live.
There are around 1150 professional families living in this small
area. In material terms, these people have so much, yet they
are poor spiritually. Work and money are their first priority
and everything else; whether it is spouse, children or God, take a
back seat.
As we walk by these luxury apartments and large
houses, we need to pray that God would convict them of just
how needy they are.
Pray that they would make time to
attend one of our conferences and have the desire to become part of
a small group where they will learn how relevant the Bible is to
their daily lives.

|
Wednesday Group
Pictured here is our newest small group. We have
been meeting together since our last conference at the end of
February. This picture was taken on an outing to a country club
where one of the couples has a membership. Friendships are forming
among the group, and a community is beginning. Spending time
together outside the group is one way to accomplish this.
Pray for this new group as they study
how the Bible applies to their everyday lives.
