Praise the Lord! Praise God in His

Praise Him for His strength; praise him for His greatness.
Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

BIENVENIDO! ... WELCOME!
Won't you join
those
from
Somerset Hills Baptist Church
as they walk and pray in Maracay? Look at the places and
the people we visit through God's eyes of love.
How can you
... where you are ... share the love of Jesus with the people in Maracay?
There is a way. Will you
commit to walk with us daily and pray over these prayer
stops?
PRAY ... PRAY ...
PRAY as you walk!
Thank you
for coming. Please come each day and faithfully take these
requests to the Father.

This
is what real love is: It is not our love for God;
it is God’s love for us in sending His Son to be the way to take away
our sins. … 1 John 4:10

Day 2 - Monday, May
19, 2008
We
had our first prayer walk down Avenida las Delicias. In the
morning, we walked along what is known as the Bridle Path, which runs
down the middle of the street. We prayed for the professionals that
work in the businesses along the road. We also went in the Chamber of
Commerce and prayed for the Bennett's upcoming two seminars. We visited
an orphanage for boys. We left a Spanish Book of John in the orphanage.
We
stopped for lunch and Mike prepared a traditional Venezuelan meal called
pabellon. It was delicious. We can share pictures later.
After
a siesta, we went on an automated prayer drive in the car. We saw an
overview of downtown Maracay and one of the surrounding neighborhoods.
We stopped into a public hospital and prayed for the doctors who will be
attending another seminar that Mike and Jan are planning.
Now
we are off to a couples' Bible study (en Espanol, of course).
We
had a good day and look forward to tomorrow.

May 18, 2008
Dear Church Family,
We've
arrived in Caracas safely at 5:30am. After a 2-hr drive to Maracay, we
had a quite day resting and spending time with Jan and Mike. Michael
and Margaret went with Mike to a church seminar about ministering to
professionals (seminar was in Spannish and people were very friendly,
but we kept on nodding our heads not knowing what they were saying...)
The other Margaret stayed home for a snooze and spent time with Jan. We
are turning in early ready for an early morning prayer walk.
Thanks
for praying for us.

Chamber
of Commerce
Headquarters
of the Chamber of Commerce.
Pray for the
businessmen of Maracay.
Pray that they
will give us an invitation to speak to their membership on the topic
of "Customer Service" so we will have the opportunity to meet many
businessmen in the area.

Cotoperiz

Parque Cotoperis. These
apartments are the largest and most luxurious in Maracay.
Over 100 professional families live here. The owner of the
Bennett’s apartment, Maria, lives here with her husband, Alfredo,
and their three teenage girls.
Pray
for this professional family as
well as the others that live in this complex.
Pray that the Lord
will open a door here so we can start a group in Maria’s apartment
with her neighbors.
Pray that the people who
live here will understand and accept God’s will for their lives.

Hospital
Central
Hospital
is the
largest hospital in town and is a teaching facility. Doctor
Lucy, who lives with her husband, Victor, and their two teenagers in
the penthouse of the Bennett’s apartment building, is an OB-GYN who
works and teaches in this hospital.
Pray for her and her
colleagues that they will appreciate the importance of ministering
not only to the physical needs of
their patients but the emotional and spiritual needs as well.
Pray
that they will focus on their spiritual lives and seek the
orientation of UPE. |
Medical
Association

Pray for the doctors who live in Maracay.
Pray
especially
for our neighbor, Doctor Lucy, who is a member of this medical
society.
Pray that we would be able to develop a friendship with Lucy and her
family.
Pray that Mike would be able to give a talk to the members.

Capital

This beautiful colonial building is the seat of
government for the state of Aragua, of which Maracay is the
capital. Every day this building is full of professionals who pass
laws governing the state. The governor, Didalco Bolivar, has
his office here.
Pray for these politicians that God
would open their hearts and minds to the truth of His word and they
would govern in a fair and honest manner. |

Escuela
Fuerzas Aereas

This is the
West Point of Venezuela. Maracay is the hub for the
military of this country.
Pray
for these young cadets.
Pray
that
the Lord will work in their lives to mold them into upstanding men
and women who love Him and live according to His principles.
