Dear Prayer
Partners,
It's hard
to believe we are already in the month of May. As I mentioned in my
last letter, April was going to be a very busy month. It turned out to
be so busy that I didn't have the time to sit down and keep you up to
date on our activities. I plan to remedy that situation with this
letter.
April saw
several "firsts" in our professional ministry. We had our first
"Professional Ministry Retreat" at a lovely hacienda up in the
mountains. We had invited all the folks who have worked with us from
the beginning in our professional ministry. The idea was to learn from
each other what works and what doesn't in ministering to professionals.
We had about 25 people present from cities like Coro, Punto Fijo,
Valencia, Maracay and Caracas. It was a fabulous weekend of sharing,
not only ideas, but also stories and prayer requests. The Lord really
blessed our time together. Pray that the Lord would bless all these
folks as they reach out to professionals in their different cities.
Another
first was our first celebration time with all our groups in Maracay.
We held this on a Sunday afternoon. All our groups were represented for
which we were grateful. Mike prepared an interesting worship service
that incorporated singing, sharing testimonies, watching short videos
and listening to a message on prayer. Everyone seemed to enjoy the time
and we plan on having another one in June or July. Please pray that
our folks would really desire another worship time together and grow in
their Christian walk as they praise the Lord with fellow believers.
On
May 18th, a prayer walk team from Somerset Hills Baptist Church in
Basking Ridge, New Jersey will be arriving. We truly believe that only
prayer can bring down the walls of apathy, wrong priorities and
traditions that keep professionals from responding to our ministry. If
you would like to follow their prayer walk journey, please go to our
website,
www.maracaymessenger.com to see pictures and read their
comments on the day. Pray for Margaret Harvey, Michael Woo and his wife
Margaret that all will go well during their time with us.
Please
continue to pray for the members of our small groups that their
commitment would grow as well as their interest in reading and studying
God's Word.
Always, JAN |
