       Dear Prayer Partners,

I know it's been awhile since I last wrote.  I apologize for not keeping you up-to-date on the happenings down here.  I hope to do better in the future.

Since my last letter at the end of January, Mike has been quite the world traveler.  He spent several days in Florida at the South America Summit which promoted missions in this region.  Then he was off to Mexico City where he attended a MegaCities Conference.  This conference brought together many missionaries from around the world who minister in the largest cities so they could share with each other what works and what doesn't work in bringing the gospel message to megacity dwellers.  Meanwhile I stayed at home holding down the fort as they say.

In between trips we welcomed a volunteer team from Arkansas who worked with us in a special education school.  Using their considerable construction talents, this team put a new roof on a classroom and finished out a kitchen so the teachers could serve a hot lunch to the children.  Meanwhile, Mike and I painted the school office.  It was hard, but very satisfying work.  The team was able to share with several teachers and give out Bibles.  The school principal, Milagros, prayed to receive Christ.  She is now being discipled by a local church.  Please pray for her growth in the Lord.

During the month of April we are having three important events related to our ministry to the professionals.  On the 3rd we are having a conference on "How to Maintain Good Relationships."  Mike will be speaking on maintaining these good relationships within the family, the workplace and with God.  Our group members will be personally inviting family members, work associates and friends to this event.  Pray that many people will be invited and will come so we can follow up with them and invite them to a small group.

The weekend of the 12th-13th we are sponsoring a retreat for folks we know who have a ministry to professionals in Venezuela.  We are inviting them to join together and share with each other the best ways to reach this population segment for Christ.  Pray that all the logistics can be worked out and many people will attend so they can not only learn from each other, but also build friendships that will support and encourage one another.

Finally on the 20th Mike and I are planning our first Sunday Celebration for the people who attend our groups in Maracay.  We will have it in the afternoon and keep it very informal.  Pray that all the people involved in our groups will attend.  Pray that they will enjoy the praise and worship time and be inspired by the message.  Our goal is to have one celebration time each month at this point.  Pray that this time would be the beginning of a new church among professionals in Maracay.

Thank you for your faithful prayers on behalf of our ministry.  Don't forget to check out our  website: www.maracayme ssenger.com

Always, JAN
