Dear Prayer Partners,
As the
summer begins, Mike and I have much to be thankful for. The first thing
for which we are thankful is for you, our faithful prayer partners.
We appreciate you so much. Many times when things are not going well,
we feel encouraged just knowing that there are many people in the US
praying for us and for our ministry to the professionals.
We are
also thankful for volunteers that come down to Venezuela to help
us in any way they can. Last month a three person team from Somerset
Hills Baptist Church in Basking Ridge, New Jersey was here to prayer
walk with us. As we walked around the four professional neighborhoods
we wish to reach, I thanked the Lord for the team and their prayers that
were a sweet aroma to Him.
Last week
we were thankful for Dr Dan Taylor and his wife, Priscilla, from
Mobile, Alabama who came to lead conferences for us. Priscilla led a
woman's Bible study for me on the life of Joseph. Dan led two
conferences, one on Self-Esteem and the other on Integral Patient Care.
The
conference on Self-Esteem drew over 100 people! We were thrilled
with this wonderful answer to our prayers. Now we need your prayers as
we follow-up with the people and invite them to one of our small
groups. The conference on Integral Patient Care gave us an
opening to one of the larger hospitals in Maracay. Pray that this is
the first of many conferences in that hospital. We pray that we can
reach the doctors, nurses and other medical personnel for the Lord
through this open door.
Finally,
we are thankful for another opportunity the Lord gave us to
minister to professionals. Mike has been asked to lead a English
conversation class at the "Language College" This is an English
language institute close to our apartment. He will be helping
businessmen who already have graduated from the institute to practice
their English skills. This is a great way to begin friendships with
these men. Pray that these friendships will deepen and Mike will be
able to invite them to join our groups.
Thank
you again for your prayers. They are really the backbone of our
ministry.
Always, JAN |
