Dear Prayer Partners,

Mike and I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is enjoying the new year.  We are back in Venezuela after spending  wonderful three weeks with our family in the States.  It was great to be all together again if only for a short time.  We had the extra pleasure of flying to Pasadena to visit with our son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Susie, and watch the Tournament of Roses Parade up close and personal.  It was a lot of fun and we have wonderful memories and great pictures.

I want to update you on several prayer requests from my last prayer letter.  One of the requests was to pray for our Wednesday night group on Dec. 13th as we presented the plan of salvation.  Thank you for your prayers.  It was a great time together and the four people there who were not believers prayed to receive Christ.  We are excited that  Pedro, Lorena, Ticho and Esperanza all joined the family of faith.  We look forward to seeing them tomorrow night and starting the discipleship process.  Please pray for Vincente who was not present that night.  Mike has talked with him about our next meeting but he said how busy he was.  Pray that the Lord would convict him of his need to be in the group tomorrow night.  Pray that he would come to know the Lord as the others do.

We are still working with our Tuesday afternoon group.  They are not quite to the point where we feel they are ready for the gospel presentation. Pray that all the members would return for the rest of the studies and we would be able to share the good news with them in a few weeks.  We will be posting a picture of this group on our webpage, www.maracaymessenger.com, in the near future.  Please go and see it and pray for these ladies.

I mentioned that our neighbors were going to have a Christmas party and invite everyone in the building.  We were very excited because it would give us another opportunity to get to know the people who live right around us.  Unfortunately the party was poorly attended so we were not able to make the contacts we wanted to make.  Continue to pray for our neighbors.  They are all professionals and we would like to get them involved in our small groups.

Please begin praying for the series of conferences we will be having.  The topic is "Prerequisites for Being Successful."  Mike will be talking about "Having a Positive Attitude," "Overcoming Failures," and "Establishing Priorities."  We are in the planning stages at this moment.  Pray that the Lord would guide us in all that we do and say.

Thank you for your support through prayer in 2006.  I pray that 2007 will be a blessed year for you and we continue to covet your prayers in the new year.

Always, JAN
