Dear Prayer
Partners,
I
apologize for not getting back with you sooner about what is happening
in our ministry. As you read in our last prayer letter, this has been a
busy time for us with three teams coming within about a month. I want
to thank you for your prayers concerning these teams. Everything went
well and although tired, we are praising the Lord for all that was
accomplished through the commitment of these mission volunteers.
One of the
requests I mentioned in my last letter concerned our Wednesday night
group. I asked you to prayer specifically for each member as Mike
shared the story of Nicodemus and the plan of salvation with them. Your
prayers were answered, as every member of the group was present and all
prayed to received Christ! As you can imagine, we are thanking and
praising the Lord. This past week each person received a Bible and was
instructed how to use it. There is very little Bible knowledge here,
even among the professionals. They were given an assignment to look up
several scriptures and pick out at least one to memorize. Pray that
each person would complete the assignment and that God's work would
speak to them as they read it for the first time. Pray for changed
lives.
We are
thankful for the prayer walkers from First Baptist Church, Trenton,
Kentucky and Terrill Road Baptist Church, Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
The four professional neighborhoods where we want to start new groups
have been bathed in prayer and we feel that the Lord is going to do a
great work in these areas that have been lifted up to his throne of
grace.
We are
also grateful for the team from Red Lane Baptist Church, Powhatan,
Virginia for all the hard work they did last week in Coro. The lives of
many children and teenagers for touched by their ministry in a reform
school and two orphanages. Pray for these young lives that through the
songs, crafts, sports and Bible stories that the love of Christ
was demonstrated to them and they will be changed because of what they
experienced last week. Then, at night there was a great time of
discipleship with the youth from three churches in Coro and Punto Fijo.
I know the lives of each of these youth were impacted by the praise
time, sharing of testimonies and messages by the team members. Please
continue to pray for the youth of these churches, that they would grow
in their faith and remain steadfast in their commitment to the Lord.
As always,
Mike and I are very appreciative of your continuing prayers for us and
our ministry to the professionals of Maracay.
Always, JAN
